Delete your account

How to delete your HelloBill account and everything in it, with or without the app.

1In the app (fastest)

  1. Open HelloBill, tap More, tap your name at the top, then Delete account.
  2. Pick why you are leaving. We keep the reason, but not your name or email.
  3. Confirm with your password, or with the code we email you if you sign in with Apple or Google.

Your account is deleted straight away, and you are signed out on every phone.

2Without the app

Email support@hellobill.my with the subject "Delete my HelloBill account". Send it from the email address on the account, because that is how we know the account is yours.

If you can no longer use that address, write from another one and tell us your business name and roughly when you signed up. We may ask you a few questions to check it is you. We delete the account within 30 days of confirming, usually within a few working days, and email you when it is done.

3What is deleted

From our live systems, for good:

  • Your account: name, email address, password, and any Apple or Google sign-in link.
  • Your business: its details, logo, bank and payment details, and settings.
  • Your clients, items, invoices, quotes, recurring invoices and payments, with every proof-of-payment file.
  • Your notifications, message history and notification tokens.
  • Your invoice and quote links: they stop working.

4What stays for a while, and why

  • Backups: up to 30 days, then destroyed.
  • Security notes (a failed sign-in, a blocked request, with an IP address): up to 90 days.
  • Your reason for leaving: kept with no name, email or detail that identifies you.
  • Emails already sent stay in your clients' mailboxes. Online payments stay on record in your own Stripe account.

5Before you delete

  • Pro is not cancelled by deleting your account. Cancel it first in your app store account's subscription settings, or the store keeps charging you.
  • Download any invoices you must keep for your records, such as for tax. Once deleted, they cannot be brought back.
  • Signing out or deleting the app does not delete your account. Everything stays until you delete the account.
